The expected-deposit calculation uses the annual tax-summary gross amount as its starting point. This arithmetic checker does not decide taxable income, deductions, filing eligibility or how any amount belongs on a return.
Gross forms and net deposits answer different questions
Uber's current US tax guide says Form 1099-K reports on-trip gross earnings, Form 1099-NEC reports qualifying promotions and referrals, and bank deposits reflect net earnings after fees and other charges. The IRS says Form 1099-K gross amounts are not reduced for fees, credits, refunds or discounts and should be checked against your records.

Common record-check questions
Why is the 1099 amount higher?
The form starts with gross payment categories; the bank sees net payouts after platform deductions. A difference is expected, but the components should still be traceable to the annual summary and statements.
Should 1099-K plus 1099-NEC equal deposits?
No. Forms and deposits measure different stages of the money flow. Use the calculator to expose the gap, then return to the original statements for any unexplained amount.
Does this calculate taxes?
No. It is only an arithmetic reconciliation aid. It does not decide taxable income, business deductions, filing eligibility or how to complete a return.
