Why does the tax summary exceed the bank deposit?

Keep gross fares separate from platform and third-party charges, estimate the GST components shown by the entered GST-inclusive amounts, and compare the reconstructed payout with your bank.

Why gross fares and deposits differ

Uber Australia says its Tax Summary reports gross earnings, while the bank deposit starts from gross earnings and subtracts fees. Its current guidance also says gross rideshare fares are GST-inclusive and the GST component is 1/11 of the fare. The ATO's current ride-sourcing guide likewise says GST is calculated on the full fare and uses the 1/11 method for GST-inclusive platform fees.
